Our goal is to turn the LA Subway Blog into the informal online home for the Westside Subway Extension. We also like to talk about the things that also happened along the way to the Wilshire Subway. (This page is definitely a work in progress!)

For starters, you should know we're trained urban planners from UCLA. (Juan also holds an MBA from the esteemed Anderson School of Management). As graduate students, we launched a grassroots campaign for the passage of Measure R, a half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements in LA County. Measure R passed, thus guaranteeing local funding for the construction of a subway down Wilshire Boulevard.
Now that we've graduated, Juan is a climate policy researcher and I'm a transportation planner and marketing analyst.
